Synthesis of (25R)-5α- 6β,15α,16β, a Cytostatic Starfish Steroid. -The title steroid (VII) is synthesized from diosgenin (I). The key step is the oxidation of the enolsilane (IV) with dimethyldioxirane to introduce the 15α-hydroxy group.
