Abstract

Heck reaction of tribromo imidazoles (I) and dibromo analogues (VI), obtained by arylation of (I), with vinyl compounds produces dialkenyl imidazoles which undergo 6π‐electrocyclization—dehydration to give the title benzimidazoles.
