β¦ Synopsis
Synthesis, Enzymic Resolution and Enantiomeric Enhancement of Bis(hydroxymethyl) [7]thiaheterohelicenes.
-Lipase-catalyzed transesterification of the title compound affords the helicenediol with 98% e.e. Column chromatography of optically enriched helicenediol on silica gel results in a further enantiomeric enhancement. A possible explanation of this phenomenon is given.
