Abstract

A series of 2‐(1H‐benzimidazol‐2‐yl)‐substituted thienoquinolines (III) is obtained in a one‐step process in which benzimidazole (II) undergoes a nucleophilic substitution and cyclization with 2‐chloroquinoline‐3‐carbaldehydes (I).
