Synthesis, Antitumor and Antitubercular Evaluation of Certain New Xanthenone and Acridinone Analogues.

-A number of new xanthenones (III) and 1-aminoacridinones [cf. (IX), (XI)] are synthesized and evaluated for their antitumor and antitubercular activity as well as their ability to inhibit cdc2 kinase and cdc25 phosphatase.
