Synthesis and Structure-Activity Relationships of Phaffiaol and Related Antioxidants.

-In order to get more information about the structure-activity relationship the title compound (X) and derivatives thereof such as (III), (IV), and (VII) are synthesized. Among all derivatives, substance (VIId) is about 4 times more potent than α-tocopherol and shows no severe toxicity.
