Synthesis and Structure of New Layered Oxides, M II La 2 Ti 3 O 10 (M: Co, Cu, and Zn).
-The new title compounds are synthesized by ion-exchange reaction of the parent Na 2 La 2 Ti 3 O 10 compound in molten salts. CoLa 2 Ti 3 O 10 , CuLa 2 Ti 3 O 10 , and ZnLa 2 Ti 3 O 10 crystallize in the tetragonal space group I4/mmm with Z = 2 (powder XRD). These oxides represent the first example of layered perovskites whose interlayer spaces are occupied by small transition metal cations.
