Synthesis and Structure of MII(AuF4)2 with MII: Ni, Pd.

-Single crystals of Pd(AuF4)2 are obtained from the solid state reaction of AuF3 and PdF2 (sealed Au-tube, 650 • C, 4 weeks). Single crystals of Ni(AuF4) are produced in the attempt to grow single crystals of Ca(AuF4)2 solvothermally from a microcrystalline Ca(AuF4)2 powder in anhydrous HF in a Monel autoclave (wall reaction, 300 . degree.C, 1 d). Although both compounds crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/n with Z = 2, they are not isotypic.
