Synthesis and Properties of Betaines of 1,4-Benzoquinone and Tetracyanoquinodimethane Dipyridinium Derivatives. -Treatment of the betaine (III) with HClO 4 gives the monohydroxy derivative (IV), while with HBr the dihydroxy analogue (V) is obtained.
