Synthesis and Microbiological Activity of Some Novel N-(2-Hydroxyl-5-Substitutedphenyl)benzacetamides, Phenoxyacetamides and Thiophenoxyacetamides as the Possible Metabolites of Antimicrobially Active Benzoxazoles.
-The novel compounds, such as (III), exhibit significant activity against the enterobacter Pseudomonas aureginosae compared with the control drugs. Derivative (IIIb) is active against the whole Gram-positive bacteria strains and the Gram-negative microorganism Klebsiella pneumoniae. The highest antifungal activity against C. albicans shows derivative (IIIe). Furthermore, the antimicrobial activities of acetamides (IIIb)-(IIIe) are also compared with their cyclic analogues.
