Synthesis and Dense Kondo Behavior of Cubic AuBe 5 -Type YbCu 5 Compound -Systematic Change of Physical Properties in the YbCu 5-x Agx (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) System.

-YbCu 5 is prepared for the first time in a single phase by a high-pressure synthesis from the elements (1.5 GPa, 900 • C, 1 h), followed by annealing (350 • C, 2 weeks, quartz tube).
