Synthesis and Debenzoylation Products of Two Perbenzoylated 2-Substituted 5-D-Galactosyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles. -Reaction of galactosyltetrazole (I) with aroyl chlorides smoothly provides galactosyloxadiazoles (III) in good yield. Debenzoylation of these compounds gives an equilibrium mixture of the corresponding deprotected oxadiazoles (IV) and 1,4-lactones (V). -(CANNIZZARO, C. E.;
