โฆ Synopsis
Synthesis and Characterization of Supported Vanadium Oxides by Adsorption of the Acetylacetonate Complex.
-The title catalysts are prepared by adsorption of VO(acac)2 or V(acac) 3 from toluene solution onto the surfaces of silica and alumina and subsequent calcination at 400 โข C. By this method supported VOx catalysts with V loadings of 0.5 mmol g-1 with all species in tetragonal configuration are formed on silica supports and catalysts with V loadings of ยฟ 2.20 mmol g-1 without any crystallinity are obtained on alumina supports. Studies of the intraction of the complexes with the support surface by FTIR, XRD, TGA, and chemical analysis show that on silica adsorption of VO(acac)2 proceeds by hydrogen bonding and of V(acac)3 by the latter in combination with ligand exchange. -(VAN DER VOORT,
