β¦ Synopsis
Synthesis and Characterization of Mixed Oligoheterocycles Based on
End-Capped Oligothiophenes.
-The new oligoheterocycles (Ib)-(If) are prepared. Their absorption and emission maxima, fluorescence quantum yields, optical energy gaps and redox potentials are determined and compared to the data obtained for thiophene analogue (Ia). It is found that the changes in the optical and electrochemical properties are more pronounced in the furan series. Oxadiazole derivative (If) exhibits the greatest differences with respect to compound (Ia). Semiempirical calculations of the gap energies correspond well with the optically and electrochemically determined values.
