Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Monoindolyl and Indolocarbazolyl Oxazolones and Imidazolones.
-The compounds (III), (VII), (X)-(XV) structurally related to MDL 27032 (XVI) a strong protein kinase C inhibitor are synthesized and tested for their biological activity. In general, all the compounds tested show only low or no inhibiting effect on protein kinase A or C, the best results being obtained for compound (XI). The bulky bis-indolyl compounds (X), (XI), (XIV), and (XV), show some antiproliferative activity on carcinoma cells. -(RODRIGUES
