Synthesis and Antitumor Activity of Certain New Substituted 1H-Isoindoledione Derivatives.
-The novel title derivatives, in which the main structural features of the active antitumor precedents are combined with the isoindoledione nucleus, are synthesized to obtain an active agent with potentiated activity towards cancerous cells and less toxicity towards normal cells. The isoindoledione analogues exhibit a distinctive potential pattern of selectivity as well as broad spectrum antitumor activity. Compounds (IVb) and (IVc) are the most active members of the series [(IVb) shows a broad spectrum activity against 60 different tumor cells lines].
