Synthesis and 57Fe Mossbauer Spectroscopy Study for (La,Na)Ti1-xFexO3 Oxides.

-Samples of La(1+x)/2Na(1-x)/2Ti1-xFexO3 (x = 0.1-0.9) are prepared by solid state reaction at 850 • C and sintering at temp. up to 1300 • C and 0.3 GPa pressure. Structure determination by XRD methods show that compounds with x ≤ 0.6 crystallize with cubic symmetry while those with x ≥ 0.7 adopt orthorhombic symmetry. The room-temp. Mossbauer spectra exhibit a superposition of one doublet and one single paramagnetic line, the relative intensities of which change with x. Fe ions are high spin Fe3+. -
