Syntheses of Octahydroquinoline-N-oxides: Haptens Designed to Elicit Catalytic Antibodies that Control a Terpenoid-Like Cascade Cyclization.
-The title compounds are prepared starting from cis-and trans-fused perhydroquinolines, e.g. (VIII). In this context an improved synthesis of diastereomeric quinolines (II) and their separation by N-protection is developed. Hapten (XIV) elicits an antibody that efficiently catalyzes a tandem cationic cyclization leading to bridge-methylated decalins. -(HASSERODT,
