Studies of Palladium-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling Reactions for Preparation of Highly Hindered Biaryls Relevant to the Korupensamine/ Michellamine Problem.

-Model studies for the preparation of the highly hindered biaryl (III) are reported. Thus, the Suzuki coupling of (I) and (II) works well. Comparable yields are obtained by the Negishi coupling of the aryl zinc reagents (IV). However, no coupling product is observed under
