Structure and Antiinflammatory Activity of Arylamides of Isonicotinic and Nicotinic Acid.

-A detailed structure-antiinflammatoryactivity relationship study of the easily prepared arylamides (V)-(VIII) is presented. In general, the isonicotinic acid amides show a somewhat higher activity compared to the nicotinic acid analogues. The transformation of the pyridinium salts to their N-oxides causes a significant loss in activity.
