Stereoselective Synthesis of (E)-1,2-Disubstituted Ethenes by Means of Sequential Cross-Coupling Reactions.

-A simple and straightforward method for the stereoselective synthesis of (E)-1,2-diaryl-substituted ethenes (cf. (IV)) via sequential formation of two C-C bonds by reaction of 1-halo-2-arylselenoethylenes (I) with Grignard reagents is given.
