Stereoselective Isoquinoline Alkaloid Synthesis with New Diselenides.

-Optically active diselenides such as (IX) are used as chiral auxiliaries in the addition of electrophiles to styrene derivatives. The method is applicated in the synthesis of the alkaloid (S)-salsolidine (XII).
