-The title compound is prepared by solid-state reaction of SrO 2 and Hg 2 Cl 2 . Powder XRD and neutron powder diffraction in combination with ab initio methods show a monoclinic structure (space group P2 1 /n, Z = 4) with significant two-dimensional character.
