The syntheses of the tricyclic ketoepoxides 1 and 2 from the readily available aromatic precursors 5 and 6 via cycloaddition of the spiroepoxycyclohexa-2,4-dienones 3 and 4 are described. The crystal structures of 1 and 2 were determined.
