β¦ Synopsis
Solid-State Diastereoselective Formation of Oxazolidines.
-A number of organic and organometallic aldehydes are converted into optically active oxazolidines (III) and (V) by solid-state interaction with (-)-ephedrine (II) and (+)-pseudoephedrine (IV), respectively. In general, the new chiral center is formed with a high degree of diastereoselectivity. The same results are obtained in boiling EtOH. -(KHRUSCHEVA, N.
