Simple Approach to Optically Active Drimane Sesquiterpenes Based on Enzymatic Resolution.

-In continuation of earlier works the title compounds such as (+)-(II) are synthesized as synthons for the preparation of more functionalized sesquiterpenes, e.g. warburganal and polygodial. The syntheses of the starting materials are described and the absolute configurations of some products are proven by chemical transformation to known compounds. -
