Self-Replication in a Diels-Alder Reaction.

-Rates of Diels-Alder reactions are investigated using several model compounds, e.g. diene (I). The sigmoidal character of the reaction curves at 23 and 40 • C indicates an autocatalytic process. The response to added product (III) confirms its catalytic activity.
