Selectivity in Organic Group Transfer in Reactions of Mixed Diorganomanganese(II) and Triorganomanganate(II) with 2-Cyclohexen-1-one or Cyclohexanecarbaldehyde.

-A survey of the selectivities shown by a number of organomanganate(II) reagents in the organic moiety transfer to substrates in two reactions is given: conjugate addition to cyclohexenone (I) and nucleophilic addition to cyclohexanecarbaldehyde (VII). The reactivity order is almost the same for both reagents (diorganomanganese(BuRMn) and triorganomanganate(Bu 2 RMnMgBr)). -
