## Abstract Phosphorus trichloride in a basic medium is a convenient reagent for the direct Cβphosphorylation of electronβrich aromatic heterocycles. The compounds obtained can be used for the synthesis of various types of heteroaryl and diheteroaryl derivatives of triβ and pentavalent phosphorus.
