Synthesis and Stereochemistry of Saturated or Partially Saturated Pyridazino[6,1-b]-and Phthalazino[1,2-b]quinazolinones. -In the reactions of the trifunctional synthons (I), (IV), (VIII) and (XII) with the carboxylic acids (II), (V), and (XIII), pentacyclic or tetracyclic hetero derivatives are formed. Two main ring-closure reactions are possible: formation of two N=C bonds with the two carbonyl groups, cf. (III), or formation of bislactam derivatives, e.g. (VII), by acylation of the hydrazine amino group with the carboxylic carbonyl. -
