โฆ Synopsis
Remarkable Oxygen Promotion of the Selective Reduction of Nitric Oxide by Hydrogen Over Au/NaY and Au/ZSM-5 Zeolite Catalysts.
-The promotion of the performance of the title catalysts by oxygen in the temp. range 373-673 K is higher for Au/NaY than for Au/ZSM-5 at the same O2 level. In situ FTIR studies in the temp. range 474-573 K suggest a suppression by O2 of the dissociation of NO chemisorbed on Au and promotion of the formation of oxygenated intermediates such as NO2 and N2O4 which are readily reduced by H2 to N2. Additionally, excess O2 inhibits the sintering of Au due to a redox process between Au(I) and Au(0) in the zeolites even in the reductive NO-N2 atmosphere.
