✦ Synopsis
Serotonergic Activity. -A series of novel 3-arylpyrrolidines, e.g. (IV), (VI), and (VIII), is prepared for structure-activity relationship investigations of CNS stabilizers. The meta substitution at the aromatic ring seems to be necessary for good receptor binding activity. The use of monodentate phosphine ligands and choice of reaction temperature significantly suppress the formation of the undesired 2-arylpyrrolidines.
