โฆ Synopsis
Reductive Transformations of 9-Oxo-11-deoxy-11-methyl-13,15isoxazoloprostanoids.
-Reduction of the title prostanoids (I) with K-selectride affords the corresponding 9-hydroxy derivatives (II) in excellent ฮฑ-selectivity. In contrast, in the presence of sodium borohydride a mixture of ฮฑ-and ฮฒ-hydroxy derivatives (IV) is obtained. Selective oxazoline ring opening occurs on reduction in the presence of palladium or nickel catalysts.
