✦ Synopsis

Reduction of Carbonyl Compounds by Using Polymethylhydrosiloxane: Reactivity and Selectivity.

-The reduction of a variety of aldehydes and ketones is reported using the chemically inert and easy to handle polysilyl compound PMHS, which is switched into the active species by catalytic amounts of Bu4NF. The method is highly stereo-and chemoselective and tolerates functional groups. It is shown that olefins, epoxides and esters are not reduced. -(KOBAYASHI, Y.;
