The different behavior of 2‐(4‐methoxyphenyl)‐ and 2‐(2‐methoxyphenyl)ethylamine and the rearrangement of both products (IV) and (VI) to the novel heterocyclic system (V) are discussed [no yield is given for the rearrangement from (VI) into (V)].
