## Abstract The structure and reactivity of the cysteine methyl ester radical cation, CysOMe^.+^, have been examined in the gas phase using a combination of experiment and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. CysOMe^.+^ undergoes rapid ionβmolecule reactions with dimethyl disulfide, allyl
