Solid State Photolysis of Triazene 1-Oxides with Naphthols. Synthesis of Azo Dyes. -The photolabile triazene oxides (I) are irradiated by sunlight in the presence of Ξ±-and Ξ²-naphthols in the solid state to give the azo dyes (III) and (V), probably formed by diazonium radical species and naphthol.
