✦ Synopsis

Reaction of H 2 and H 2 S with CoMoO 4 and NiMoO 4 : TPR, XANES, Time-Resolved XRD, and Molecular-Orbital Studies.

-The reactivity of a series of metal molybdates (Ξ±-MMoO 4 , Ξ²-MMoO 4 , MMoO 4 β€’nH 2 O, M: Co, Ni) toward H 2 and H 2 S is examined using temperature programmed reduction, X-ray methods and ab initio calculations. In general, these molybdates are more reactive toward H 2 and easier to reduce than pure molybdenum oxides. Moreover, the molybdates interact stronger with H 2 S than MoO 3 or MoO 2 . Reoxidation of the reduced and sulfided molybdates is achieved by reaction with O 2 at high temperatures. -(RODRIGUEZ, JOSE A.; CHATURVEDI,
