Reaction of 5-Azacytosine with 3-Methyl-1-phenylpyrazol-5-one.

-The first example of the reaction of 5-azacytosine (I) with an uncharged C-nucleophile is presented. The title reaction proceeds with destruction of the 5-azacytosine cycle to afford the dipyrazolylmethane (III).
