Prodrugs of Neuron-Selective Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors: Amino Acid Derivatives of 1-(4-Aminophenyl)-2-aminopropanes.
-The most interesting derivative within this series is found to be glycine amide (VII). It is shown that amino acid derivatives show only weak MAO inhibitory activity in vitro but strong, neuron-selective inhibitory activity in vivo.
