Preparation, Crystal Structure and IR Spectra of BeSeO 3 •H 2 O -Hydrogen Bonds and Correlation of IR and Structure Data in the Monohydrates MSeO 3 •H 2 O (M: Be, Ca, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd).
-The title compound (IV) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P2 1 2 1 2 1 with Z = 4. The structure contains BeO 3 (OH 2 ) tetrahedra formed by three selenite and one water oxygen atoms. The tetrahedra are connected to a threedimensional framework via the Se atoms of trigonal pyramidal SeO 3 2-ions. The hydrogen bonding in this structure is described and compared with that of other M II SeO 3 •H 2 O compounds and beryllium salt hydrates. -(BAEUMER,
