โฆ Synopsis
Preparation and Transmission Electron Microscopy Investigation of Quaternary Niobium Tungsten Oxides of Titanium, Zirconium, and Hafnium.
-Oxides of composition MNb6W10O47 with M: Ti, Zr, Hf and M2Nb4W11O47 (M: Ti, Hf) are prepared for the first time by reaction of the binary oxides at 1000-1400 โข C. The compounds are isotypic with the 4:9 phase (Nb8W9O47) and have the threefold tetragonal tungsten bronze ( TTB) type superstructure. However, transmission electron microscopic results for ZrNb6W10O47 reveal the presence of another quaternary phase that exhibits a novel intergrowth structure between the TTB and the ReO3 type.
