## Abstract Telluriumโ€metal exchange reaction of __n__โ€butyl 2โ€pyridinyl telluride derivatives with __n__โ€butyllithium or dilithium dimethylcyanocuprate proceeded smoothly to give the corresponding 2โ€pyridinylmetal derivatives, which are important intermediates for functionalization of pyridines.
