✦ Synopsis
Preparation and Application of α-Bromomono-and bisdifluoromethoxyacetophenones in the Course of Synthesis of Polymethyleneimidazoles Containing a Bridge Nitrogen Atom. -The synthesis of the title difluoromethoxyacetophenones (III) is easily achieved by reaction of freon-22 (II) with mono-or dihydroxyacetophenone. Their bromoacetyl derivatives (V) undergo coupling with heterocyclic enamines to provide access to fused imidazole derivatives [cf. (VII), (IX)]. Moreover, the bromoacetophenone (Va) is used as reagent for the N-alkylation of various pyridine derivatives [→ (XI)]. -(DEMCHENKO, A. M.; NAZARENKO,
