β¦ Synopsis
Plastic Superconducting Polymer-NbSe2 Nanocomposites.
-Lamellar polymer/inorganic superconducting solids with plastic-like characteristics are prepared by heating a 2:1 molar LiBH4-NbSe2 mixture 12 h at 450 β’ C under dynamic vac., exfoliation of the resulting powder into single layers of NbSe2 by reaction with water, and addition of an aqueous polymer (PVP, PEO, or PEG) solution to an aqueous suspension of single-layer NbSe2. As shown from the powder XRD patterns, the obtained polymer intercalate films have a layered structure. (PEG)0.80NbSe2 composite films exhibit the best flexibility. The superconducting transition temp. of (PEO)0.93NbSe2 is only slightly lower than that of host NbSe2.
