✦ Synopsis
Photostimulated Reductive Cyclization of o-Nitrophenylazo Dyes
Using Sodium Hydroxide in Isopropyl Alcohol. A New Synthesis of 2-Aryl-2H-benzotriazoles.
-With a view to environmental problems, the new efficient title method for the preparation of plastic additives (II) has a crucial advantage by use of a nonmetallic reducing agent. The photostimulated reductive cyclization proceeds through the formation of N-oxides as intermediates.
