Phase Equilibria of the 1/2Bi 2 O 3 -CaO System in Oxygen at 1 atm Pressure.

-Phase equilibria in the title system are studied over the temp. range 650-1050 • C in 1 atm O 2 . Five stable phases with fixed stoichiometry are detected:Bi 14 Ca 5 O 26 , Bi 2 CaO 4 , Bi 6 Ca 4 O 13 , Bi 2 Ca 2 O 5 , and CaO. A face-centered cubic solid solution phase extends from pure Bi 2 O 3 to a CaO content of 27 mol% at 816 • C. It is replaced by monoclinic Bi 2 O 3 and a rhombohedral solid solution with 12 mol% CaO in the Bi-rich region. The eutectoid is located at 6 mol% CaO and 684 • C. -(GOEKCEN, OYA A.;
