Abstract

Polyethylene glycol 400 represents an efficient reaction medium for the cycloaddition of α,β‐unsaturated aromatic aldehydes with zwitterions derived from isocyanides and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates to give styryl‐ and chromenylfurans in good yields.
