[Pd/Base/QX] Catalyst Systems for Directing Heck-Type Reactions.

-The selectivity of the Pd-catalyzed Heck arylation of 2,3-dihydrofuran (II) with aryl iodides (I) can be completely determined by appropriate selection of the reaction conditions. Thus, in the presence of tetrabutylammonium acetate, 2-aryl-2,5-dihydrofurans (III) are obtained, whereas a mixture of potassium acetate and tetrabutylammonium chloride results in almost complete shift of the selectivity towards the 2-aryl-2,3-dihydrofurans (IV). -(JEFFERY, T.;
