✦ Synopsis

stituted for Zn) is synthesized by a sol-gel process starting with a mixture of Al(O-sBu)3, Zn(NO3)2, Mn(NO3)2 dissolved in sBuOH (calcination in air, 800 °C, 2 h). The samples are characterized by powder XRD and EPR spectroscopy. All the compounds crystallize with the cubic spinel-type structure in the space group Fd3m. Mn-doping induces the appearance of a partial inverse spinel structure with Mn 2+ ions residing on both tetrahedral and octahedral cation sites. -(POPOVIC*,
